Ares is already planning a merchant/pirate wave. That would leave us pirate vs. pirate action.

Maybe they should get a license of this http://www.starz.com/Originals/BlackSails . At least something I'm looking forward to.

Historically, I would go for Sweden/Russia. Maybe having some danish vessels could provide a historic link to the british.

I think I have said this on an another thread. 6 plus big fat merchants. One or two men-of-war escort ships. Small frigates or smaller. Fight off X number of pirate ships. The less or smaller the pirate ships the higher the reward for them. That would be a naval chess game.
Alas Rab you are so right. The only group that would push this game to it's limits. Are the people like me with an long term interest in Action under sail and the ships, but have no wish to buy into the models we already have. So we are left out.

I have been lucky thanks to David to have seen a number of games and played one game of SOG. One could mix SOG ships and 1-1200 ships It does not look so wrong. If you add (not GLUE) a thicker base with all the information for SOG (it would have to be a little wider for the bigger ships) on it to a 1-1200 ship. It would help. So they are not the end of the world.
