Here's another for you, Eric, the good stuff. Rum ALWAYS tastes better when it's stolen... :)

Don't want to knock the gilt off your gingerbread My Lord, but in your exalted position within the Board of Admiralty, that is not considered stealing, but just on of the perks of the job. Just don't let the Clerk of the Acts find out. We would not want anybody being accused of peculation now would we!

The Business of the commander-in-chief is first to bring an enemy fleet to battle on the most advantageous terms to himself, (I mean that of laying his ships close on board the enemy, as expeditiously as possible); and secondly to continue them there until the business is decided.

That‘s the problem with some members of the admirality who started their career with Letter of Marques...

Won‘t call this official „stealing“, too.

Maybe a futher, unlucky French broadside will prevent those picant details from our next meeting Agenda, Rob.

I think that your next stocktaking will show that there is no deficiency in the stock of Rum my dear Comte, since I had a quick word with the Superintendent of Dockyards.

Charge it to "Morale & Wellness"--it helps keep the men's morale up when they see those higher up the ladder risking Official Displeasure to take care of them, and thus keeps them well motivated. :)

It gives me great pleasure to announce that the Medal for top monthly poster for November goes to Bill (Wentworth).
