    Thanks for the pictures Rob! Your Chilean Navy and the scale models of Mancera, Niebla and Corral are amazing. I've been in Mancera, a beautiful place. I'm pleasanty surprised that you and your friends have recreataed that historical battle, your annual event must be very funny.

    I only have one doubt: did you buy the chilean ships? I mean if Ares made models of the O'Higgins and the others... or did you have to modify other ship packs? (painting the flag, printing the ship cards, etc.)

    All the ships were converted from Ares models with as much research as I could find on them I have the research in paper form somewhere in my folders. I will look it out and photocopy it if you would like to see it. I will tell you more about Doncaster tomorrow. It is getting nearer to midnight over here in the UK.

    Welcome aboard Christobal, I hope you enjoy being a member of this wonderful global community. I have a fleet of Chilean (and Peruvian) ships, although my interest is firmly settled in the 1870s. I was a visitor to your country in 1994 when one of our ships ran aground there. I was in Talcahuano for a month overseeing repairs, and had a chance to visit the ironclad Huascar which at the time was berthed very close to where we were living in the naval base. I regret I didn't get to see more of your lovely country.

    I must admit we have had a bit of fun with it over the years Christobal. it was really all a spinoff from the 25mm and !5 mm stuff we did for the school wargames club, and when I retired, Wings of War had just started and I needed something to do so I got involved. The next thing you know Keith had started the Drome on line and then when Andrea came up with Sails the Anchorage came along and I startrd doing the 3D terrain from the cardboard flats they sold. That led onto the forts and the rest just followed on. Just like designing stage sets only smaller.

    Yes I first met Andrea in Rome when Attillio the Italian Wingco took us all out for a cheese and wine evening. Then he came to Doncaster a couple of times over the years, and I last saw him at Prague Con as it then was a year or so ago.
    I only met Keith once when he stopped over in England on his way back from the Middle East and stayed with us for a couple of days.
    We should start a which shipmates have you met in the flesh, but I'm sure our American shipmates would win hands down!
