Superb work Robert. It is always great to see a craftsman's work.
As for the correct place to display this fine Schooner you are spot on.

Thanks guys for the nice comments. The badges around her windows are white metal parts, most of the metal parts in the kit I replaced with wood as they appeared out of scale to me, but the badges looked pretty good so I kept them.

That is a beautiful model, Robert. You should be justifiably proud.

Ironically enough I had just seen a posting of someone selling a "Sultana" on Craigslist. It's no longer listed, but the original article is here:

From what else I can gather someone did purchase it and they're trying to restore it to the original build, but time and expense is a factor.

Thanks David, pretty cool video Jim, just to be curious I checked the price of the Sultana kit on Model Shipways it's now $129.00 I think I paid $69.00 about 5 years ago, I have seen this kit go on sale for less than $70.00 I don't think I would pay more than that for an entry level kit.

I still have the Langton 1/300 Wasp sitting in pieces in the basement. There's another project waiting to be finished.

Jim I have more kits waiting to be done than I have fingers, I need to get busy, maybe being on this forum will give me the motivation I need to get moving.

As a matter of fact I will make a list of some of my beginner to mid level kits and see what you guys would like, if I get a positive response I can do a full build. Time to check what Robert's hobby shop has in the stock closet, list coming soon.

Ok guys here is my sort list of large scale static kits I can do a full build thread if you are interested. Think of this as a poll of what you want to see me build, I have no real preference they are all really nice kits.

These are vintage kits from different suppliers and I would guess around 20 years old, they are from 100% to 90% complete and are pretty good quality, all kits are solid hull design. Short list below in size order.

    1. US Brig Perry, 1843, 10 guns, size 20 1/2 inches

    2. English Cutter Diligence early 1800's, 12 guns, size 23 1/2 inches

    3. US Brig Fair American, 1778, 16 guns, size 26 1/2 inches

I'd vote to see the US Brig Fair American.

Thanks for your vote Jim, Jim picks the big American Brig. I need at least a few more votes guys. My guess is some of the guys across the pond will pick the Diligence, only time will tell.
