Default The British 1st rate Ships of the Line.

Hi I'm new to the forum and new to this period of naval war-gaming. I bought SoG at Xmas and loved it. This prompted me to buy more ships and accessories. Upon purchase of all three British, 1st rate ships (excluding HMS Victory), I noticed that they do not have the spritsail yards, (I think that's what they're called), like all the other ships. Just wondering what is the reason for this?

    Welcome!

I'd say it's pure production reasons or recognition in the game that is the reason. Historically I don't know any reason for it.

They should probably have a dolphin striker too. A little bit of carbon fiber rod and a dab of paint and you're there. The sparce-ness of sail on the 1sts bugged me too. On the other hand, I want to get rid of the spritsail on my SoW and replace it with a bare yard. And maybe lop off one from Victory

It's worth noting that the SGN108 First Rates are at a mid-range sail setting, while Victory is at Full Sail, only thing missing being if she carried studding sails.
