Ohio maybe a hotbed but Oregon has one member with 400 posts. This person is keeping the state in the game by himself. Well done that man.

Ick, that would require me to leave my underground command bunker and venture out into the urban jungle... seriously, around some parts of this area "wearing protection" means a Kevlar vest, a carry-permit and a sidearm. (Let's put it this way... back in the '90s, some of my range buddies were regulars among the heroes of Cops.)

My Friend, you should live on the Southside. Chicago has always been a rough city, but there are areas that are veritable war zones. When my wife and I first married, we lived in a neighborhood that had additional armed security forces driving around because the CPD couldn't keep up with violent crime. That was almost 20 years ago. There are many places that have gotten worse. Thankfully, it is illegal to carry a handgun in the city limits.

I'm down with the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard movement. Thank God I'm not in Seattle, can't stand big cities, but I am in the area. It would be cool to join up with some other SoG players in the region.

Six continents listed, and then UK/Ireland. What's wrong with this picture?

My father is Hungarian (his family fled in 1944 before the Soviet Army arrived), and I wear that heritage proudly. I'm just heartbroken about the political events there in the last few years.

But by birth I am American. Living in Oakland, CA.

Let see... Ystradgynlais. That would be pronounced East-ragin-lays, correct?

I dated a girl a long time ago who's father was from Pontardawe. That was my first experience of Welsh, couldn't understand a word he said, plus he had a stutter and he spoke real low. I can't beleive I even remember the name. I think that is near a big forrest preserve. Is that anywhere near you Rab?

I am a mutt, been all over, my family is from all over. You can tell I am a mutt, by the wet cold nose.

I would say that has a lot to do with it, though most could be cross-over 'Dromers, Ohio having a very active WoG population.

You might be soggy, but we're windy, though the reason why is still debated: http://blogs.chicagotribune.com/news...r_out_of_.html

Growing up in Chicago I can remember garbage cans being blown a block from where they started, and walking to school bent forward at a 45 degree angle so the wind wouldn't push me back. But, my vote goes to Chicago politicians. Much more wind and hot air.

In the early- to mid-'80s, I worked for the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners, at City Hall. I experienced both types of wind on a weekly basis.

    Sweet. Have fun with it.

With all the recent reading I've been engaging in some interesting words have made it onto the vocabulary list such as veriest driveller, pestiferous, vituperative to name a few.
