Default On this day 20 March

On the 20th of March 1815, Napoleon returned to Paris from his exile on Elba, ushering in the Hundred Days of Napoleon. During this time, Europe witnessed the War of the Seventh Coalition in which France, under Napoleon’s command, fought against the United Kingdom, Prussia, Austria, German states, Russia, Netherlands, and Sweden. Pro-Napoleon forces in the Kingdom of Naples fought the Neapolitan War against the Austrian Empire, and Napoleon suffered his decisive defeat at the Battle of Waterloo. The Hundred Days came to an end on the 8th of July 1815 with the restoration of King Louis XVIII.
