Pussers, and when I drink a lot, I don't remember either. Mine also was a long time ago. I think it was Tuesday, maybe Wednesday?

I'll be the heritic here, and declare for Port!
Warre's, Cockburns, and Grahams are all quite good.
For those sailing in US waters, Taylors is good only for cooking and punch; though we make a number of faux ports (made the same way, but officially can't be called port since they never saw Portugal, at least to the Euro-zone Mercantilists).

As in, I'm a clever or dextrous fellow? Or rum-soaked? ;)
I'm also fond of the occasional Port, or Madeira. And a hearty porter now and again. But rum... rum is the drink for me!

By far the best rum I've ever had came off of a shipwreck that went down in a storm in Charleston Harbor back in the 18teens. That was some smooth stuff. Pussers and Appleton are nice, and Pyrat Rum is too, if a bit pricey. For the last half-dozen years or so my pirate crew and I have been living off of Cruzan Blackstrap mostly. If's amazing, but you have to like the taste of molasses. Another that I give a thumb's up to is a rum from, I think it was Panama? With the amusing name of Abuelo Anejo.

While I do like rum, my very favorite drink is Polish potato wodka.

(a good reason to be in the French fleet or to assault a french merchant ship hoping to find a cask of cognac)

Won't you be sailing as the Neapolitan Navy Attilio? That way you can get the best of both worlds. Allies for the Nelson era, and Murat's Neapolitan Navy at the later stages. The best of all wines.

    So my fleet could be:

    Asprigno Alberata
    Falanghina
    Piedorosso
    Bianco Sorrento
    Rosso natuale frizzante Grignano
    Lacrima Christi

    Nice idea!

Glad to be of service Attilio. I just felt that it was better than sailing for the Serene Republic. A bit more mileage, or should that be knottage? :D

I'm more in to Single Malt whisky... But I do drink Rum once and a while ...for medicinal purposes:)

The medicin is simple : 1 mug of hot milk + 2 tablespoons of honey + 2cl of "StrÖh-Rum 80°proof and once you drank that right into bed... The next morning all your little ailments are gone like snow in a desert sun:p

Had my first try of rum in an asian land many years ago. Was a bit of a trial for me so don't drink rum that much these days.
