On the 20th of February 1815, The USS Constitution engaged HMS Levant and HMS Cyane off the coast of Madeira, Spain. Beginning at 18:05, broadsides were exchanged until 18:45 when HMS Cyane struck her colors. Having previously disengaged for repairs, HMS Levant returned at 20:40. The USS Constitution pursued her, exchanging broadsides until HMS Levant struck colors a little after 22:00.
