Default Hello from Agawam MA, USA

Reporting for duty. I signed up as directed because of the migration of the Aerodrome site, and must confess that I have never played Sails of Glory. But on the other hand, I and my mates have played many sailing ship actions using a set of rules that I have evolved over the years, suitable for playing fleet actions. My love of sailing naval derives from my childhood exposure to C.S. Forrester and his Hornblower novels, and has extended from there to all aspects of naval warfare. I look forward to perusing this site, and picking up many useful hints.

Hello Bruce. Pleased to see a new shipmate moor here. Hopefully the transition to the new website will go seamlessly and we can look forward to your action full dispatches in future.

What do you play with when you play with your rules? Do you use ship miniatures?

    Greetings, Bruce!

Admiral Bligh said that you were near Boston, but I'm guessing that you're just closer than him. Based on the charts, you're nowhere near Boston.

Right you are. He must have the old edition of the hydrographic charts. In fact, Agawam is right next to Springfield, and about as far away from Boston as it is possible to be and still be in Massachusetts - which is pretty much the way we like it out here.

Good to have you aboard Bruce.
Even my charts can be out sometimes, they are the ones supplied by some printers called "I.P. address" whoever they are. I will ask my cartographer at the Admiralty to ammend them.

    Bligh.
The Business of the commander-in-chief is first to bring an enemy fleet to battle on the most advantageous terms to himself, (I mean that of laying his ships close on board the enemy, as expeditiously as possible); and secondly to continue them there until the business is decided.
