Default What's on your workbench for May 2023

I had not seen this thread up yet for this month. So here is a post, abet one having no ships on it yet!

Gold Miners for a new wild west game called "What a Cowboy". 3d prints from 3D Breed painted with Contrast and Speed paints. Just out of focus in the background is a troop of the 17th LD circa 1780.

    Very well painted Eric.

Not much going on on the workbench it would seem at the moment.
I have just concluded mu work on the Copenhagen scenario, and intend to do a test run or two to test out the viability of the forts firepower, distances for fitting the battle line to the table etc.

The Business of the commander-in-chief is first to bring an enemy fleet to battle on the most advantageous terms to himself, (I mean that of laying his ships close on board the enemy, as expeditiously as possible); and secondly to continue them there until the business is decided.

Getting a new workbench, well desk, set up.

Not a bad afternoon's sweaty manual labor, if I do say so myself... and for you guys that insist on wanting WGS ships scaled same as the planes, an aircraft carrier would be about as long as this desk. So unless you have large indoor gymnasiums and are willing to have HOURS of nothing but movement and then only a few minutes ation before you gotta pack up...

(The left-side laptop was my aunt's, we're using it to get mom's personal files off her company craptop where the idiots in Boeing sysadmin think a paltry 250GB ought to be enough for anybody, even the most document intensive of users...

Thanks, Rob. Between it, the end table stuffed between it and the wall, and my grandparents' old coffeetable that matches the end table, about half the living room is work-surface now including the entire exterior wall section. The manufacturer calls it a 66" desk, but I could comfortably set up a sleeping bag under it.

Next step, get the Old Crab squared away so I cn get the shipyard fired up an print some aircraft carrier and other ship decks for size reference...

There is a perfect space for a nice 27" 4k monitor in between those laptops.

True, but it's occupied by my printer/scanner. :) And I gotta leave a spot for Junior to roost when the little guy decides it's time to be my "research assistant" again... not to mention needing room for a very large model of a "Big Boy" steam locomotive if I an ever get the bloody thing to stay put together.

Related: Amazon order for SWAS canceled, Pen & Sword offered to get it here from the UK both faster and cheaper.
