Here's a little something I found exploring a remote island, Cumberland Island, Georgia.

It's called reindeer moss. I think you can find it in craft stores. I thought it might work well for branches on trees instead of just using clumps of green fluff.

    More research will be forthcoming.

    Hi Dobbs.
I have used it for 25 mm scale trees for many years. You can find it in different colours, but to my eyes I think it is out of scale for anything under about 15 mm which is the reason I use the flock.
However, in the picture yours looks much finer than the stuff I get. It will be interesting to see how it comes out when compared to your buildings and ships.

The Business of the commander-in-chief is first to bring an enemy fleet to battle on the most advantageous terms to himself, (I mean that of laying his ships close on board the enemy, as expeditiously as possible); and secondly to continue them there until the business is decided.

I use it as bushes for 25mm or wooded areas for 15mm.

If you pick it yourself, it’ll become very brittle when dry.
