Default Sails of Glory at Full Scale

Suzanne and I are attending Downrigging Weekend on Grace.

Here I am tacking Agility behind Sultana. I'm sure I could have taken her if I had any sort of armament or a bigger crew.

A few more yards and you would be in a position to cross her stern and rake her Dobbs. You obviously need a cannon on Grace.

The Business of the commander-in-chief is first to bring an enemy fleet to battle on the most advantageous terms to himself, (I mean that of laying his ships close on board the enemy, as expeditiously as possible); and secondly to continue them there until the business is decided.

    Away boarders!

Sorry I missed the down rigging this year, beautiful weather. Ironically, I was in Chestertown last weekend visiting a friend who just bought a house there.

Even without sails, seeing a Baltimore Clipper come up astern is pretty cool.

Thank goodness they still have their tompions in the cannons.

Suzanne raises sail to give chase (they got away. Nothing goes to weather like a diesel).

Another one we failed to prevent running our blocade.

    Bligh.
