Just wondering, did anyone here ever play the mid 80's computer game by SSI called Broadsides? At the time it was the height of realism and I enjoyed it a great deal. There were a number of ships each rated for gunnery, speed, the number of marines onboard, etc. You would trade shots with your adversary and you could see the damage each broadside was doing. If you got close enough for a boarding action the screen changed and you got to test your sword fighting skills (or the lack thereof) while snipers did their work from the crows nests. It was great fun but as is the case with all computer games it only lasted until I was forced to part ways with my trusty Commodore 64 and buy a new computer.

Not that I've looked, but are there any good computer simulations for the age of fighting sail?

BTW, if you're not familiar with Broadsides, just do a Google search for "Broadsides SSI" and you'll see websites where you can play it.
