    The masts and sails of my lugger Agilite'.

    Next up, getting an Alligator and modifying the hull.

    I've been learning a lot about luggers the last few days.
    One of the the things I find interesting is the topmasts being aft of the course masts.

    You're exactly right, Vol. 0.020" Styrene sheets from Evergreen.

    I originally tried 0.010" but it didn't shape as well.

    I shape them by wrapping them over a small dowel or handle of a modeling paint brush. Finger warmth seems to be enough.

    That is interesting Dobbs. I have been using a bit thicker sheet and forming over dowel of various sizes but heating with Mrs Bligh's crafting hot air gun.
    I will try that thinner styrene next time I send an order to Evergreen.

    The hull has arrived for Agilite'. The square rigger masts are off, and the beakhead sanded away. It seems that luggers have rounded bows. I'm considering adding a stem piece. I'm also considering shortening the hull by removing a gunport at the main channels.

    The fore and main courses are 0.060" carbon fiber rod. The topmasts and mizzen are 0.030" carbon fiber. The yards, bowsprit, and boomkin are styrene rod.

    I'm making progress on my multiple lines of effort for assembling and painting wargaming stuff. Back in August my line up was:

    1) Complete one unit of 28mm French infantry so that I have enough for my first Frano-Prussian skirmish game.
    2) Complete one unit of 15mm Louis XIV dragoons plus paint up another for a 1690's game of French vs Grand Alliance.
    3) Paint up a few odds bits of WWII Germans and Russians for a 1941 game of 'O Group'
    4) Build more 1/1200 17th century ships in anticipation of the full Mad for War rules being released.
    5) PAint more B&P figures - 9 Spanish militia on the go. Then build another ship and paint some long boats as well.

    1) The Franco-Prussian French were finished (posted in the Sept Work Bench thread). I'm now working on some French hussars.
    2) One unit of Louis XIV dragoons got done this month - the Bretagne Dragoons in blue coast (attached photo). One more to be done for a scenario I plan to play - after a WWII game (see point 3).
    3) The WWII bits of Germans and Russians got done this month (attached photo)
    4) Sadly, no 17th century ships. The Mad for Rules are still not out, but once they are I will start on some more ships.
    5) I did finish the Spanish militia (photo post in the Sept work bench thread). Now working on some indigenous militia for the Spanish.

    Bonus - I finished the start of 28mm Warfare figures for the Great Northern War. The attached photo is the first unit - finished yesterday - of the Russian Narvsky regiment.

    Super nice job Jonas! Yes it is a gorgeous model. He has me painting Bucentaure and frigate Diane for the kickstarter as well albeit in 1/700 scale. I am building the Bucentaure now and have the masts mounted. Cloth sails were drying over night.

    Being the only one painting it in a smaller scale and being asked quite late (perhaps you others too) made me a bit... unhappy with my result. There's one painter that has made an incredible job of painting a perfect version. Your prints are remarkable. I'm so impressed by the quality of your FDM printer.

    Well, then I guess I was just a day behind you or so, but I still think I could’ve done a better job with a little more time…
    I guess the hard limit made me stressed too.

    I really hope I our painted hulls helps out with the Kickstarter. His models are incredibly good. We are blessed by the availability of 3D printers and good models.

    Now I just hope that the less prolific navies can get a little love too. Not just more Swedish ships but xebecs and perhaps the Turkish navy. Even though it’s not for me I guess the smaller American vessels would be suited too.

    Agreed Jonas. I am amazed at the awesome gun and carriage detail on these new ships of Henry's.

    And I also agree that more Swedish ships would be welcome, partcularly the in-shore army fleet ships. Henry and Simon already have a few American ships.

    Has Henry changed something about his designs? The guns look more robust and in keeping with SoG size than the KS with the Victory and Santissima Trinidad that we all bought into a few years back.
