    Default Should I do wakes and bow-waves on my bases?

    They are often described in books and most minis picture them but looking in paintings and pics tall ships sailing I don’t see any. What’s to do?

    For me I use official or official type bases so dont use bow waves etc.
    If you are making your own bases then upto you, they always look good. Other members have added these so really up to you

    Because I have a lot of actions with ships in harbours or starting from them, like Captain Duff I never considered using anything other than the official bases. However, also like him I think that the shipmates who do employ textured bases add interest to the action photographs of their ships. So you pays your money and takes your choice.

    Oak and Iron uses cardboard wake markers that are placed at the stern of the ship to indicate the end of a move. Maybe Litko do some.
