For those of you who really want to add flavor to your games...

Suzanne picked these up for me at our local MOM's organic market. I'm not really sure about whether meal worms and weevils are the same species, but they look the part. They are dried, so there's no squirming involved.

They're really quite good and taste kind of like bacon bits.

In my opinion, Jack Aubrey had it wrong. Never choose the lesser of two weevils. The bigger ones have more crunch.

I will introduce the idea at Doncaster this year and see what the general reception is Dobbs. I will ask the crew to send any comments on to you.

    Which one did you choose?

Two weevils crept from the crumbs. “You see those weevils, Stephen?” said Jack solemnly.
    “I do.”
    “Which would you choose?”
“There is not a scrap of difference. Arcades ambo. They are the same species of curculio, and there is nothing to choose between them.”
“But suppose you had to choose?”
“Then I should choose the right-hand weevil; it has a perceptible advantage in both length and breadth.”

There I have you,' cried Jack. 'You are bit - you are completely dished. Don't you know that in the Navy you must always choose the lesser of two weevils? Oh ha, ha, ha, ha!”

I definitely side with Stephen, though I imagine he didn't eat the chosen one.

Out of everyone in this crew, Eric, you stand the greatest chance of coming face to "face?" with these snacks...

It’s almost as good as the one about why they are called dog watches.

    Because they are curtailed.

    Could do Dave.
If you like I could pack a few in your tin of shortbreads which I hope to finally get to you at Doncaster. I f you remind me I will tell you a tail of my only encounter with wevills and how Mrs B upset a Museum curator with an expose of one of the displays.
