Another great video Bill. Guess which vessel drew my attention the most? I think I underplayed the colour scheme on my Xebecs somewhat.

The Business of the commander-in-chief is first to bring an enemy fleet to battle on the most advantageous terms to himself, (I mean that of laying his ships close on board the enemy, as expeditiously as possible); and secondly to continue them there until the business is decided.

Here is some further interesting info on ship modeling -- the linked three part story of the restoration of an 1875 large scale model of Old Ironsides. Plenty of photos along with the written commentary and part three has a video as well:

Right Bill, I've now read all the information and watched the clips. All I can say is what dedication to a project.
Sooner him than me. What surprised me most is how much decay and dirt had accumulated in the years since it was built.

As long as we are talking about models, here is a link to a story about a model of USS Constitution made by its crew in 1812 and presented to its Captain. It now resides at the Peabody Essex Museum in Massachusetts:

Thank you for sharing those videos, Bill. The U.S.S constitution Museum is such a rich source of material.
