Always good to get another perspective on the game Jim.
You can always pick up some ideas to graft onto Sails even if you don't take up the game seriously.

The Business of the commander-in-chief is first to bring an enemy fleet to battle on the most advantageous terms to himself, (I mean that of laying his ships close on board the enemy, as expeditiously as possible); and secondly to continue them there until the business is decided.

Very interesting action, and one which demonstrates once again the capability of our ships in enacting the big battles.

Here's the League of Augsburg playlist for their naval rules, Mad for War:

The Anglo-Dutch naval wargaming video provides a decent overview of the rules. I will shortly order a pdf copy of the rules to give them a try. I like the idea of characters which is useful for AAR.
