Default Card Deck and Ship Log Storage

I'm grand when it comes to storing my ships, but other than rubber bands (not my favorite, since they wear down the edges), I don't have a good storage system for movement decks and ship logs. Any suggestions?

All my cards are sleeved and thus safe from wear Jason. I colour code all my additional items by their bands.
    Red for the UK.
    Blue for France.
    Yellow for Spain,
and now Green for the USA.
    White for the Arab States.
and the drab ordinary bans for any extras.
The down side to sleeves is that with time they cut through the elastic bands. However, the worst cutters by far are the ship damage mats.

Is there a specific size of sleeves that fit the cards well, or are you just using bigger ones? (I don't have anything to measure the cards with at the moment.)

Mayday Games do one which is specific to Sails cards. It is MDG-7126 and is 50mmx75mm. A nice snug fit. You can get packs of the premium sleeves in 100, or the slightly thicker sleeves in a pack of 50.

For my 74's, each ship and all its accessories go into a 0.3-liter Really Useful Box. Regular frigates and small 2-deckers go two-per into an Iris Photo Case, 16 each of those in two XL Photo Keeper boxes. Constitution and the three-deckers go two-per into Really Useful 0.7-l boxes.

This way, as soon as I grab the ship's case everything I need is right there with it.

I liked these at the time Dobbs, and it certainly would save my problem of supplying decks to all my Langton ships. My ships each have a dedicated deck of cards in their box with them just as they came. A pool of cards like yours could be switched between ships more easily as needed.

Have been making these for storage and organization since I got into the game a few years back. They hold the ship log and the sleeved card deck. Will share here if anyone would like to use.

    A very nice contribution Dave.
    Thanks for that.
Would you like to get those put into the files section?

You are welcome Rob. You most certainly can place them in the file section if you would like. Would be great if others can get some use out of them.

I wish we could get Ares to make hard-plastic tuckboxes like these as an official game accessory... :)

They could sell me a couple of hundred with no problem. At say $6 each that would be $1,200 straight off.

Yes I agree Rob, I am sure theywould sell, especially if we showed them off at shows, once they start up again, but I think we all know the unfortunate answer to them doing so

You just need a younger business-partner to share the work. :)

EDIT: For us in the US certain plastic cotton-swab boxes look like they might work for 2 decks or a deck and a base each. Genuine Q-Tip brand, not the Target or Walmart store-brand ones. No fancy deco, but sturdy and functional.

Decided to make blank boxes for those that wish to add other ships that I haven't added to the fleets yet. Choose the size needed, add the names and away you go. Also, decided to add support for those with American and Spanish ships. Blanks are included for those as well.
I've used these tuck boxes for years now, also for housing minis from another game, and can say that when printed on 100+ lb card stock, you don't have to worry about what's inside. They are sturdy and stackable.
    Enjoy!
