A wealth of information here Bill. Just the stuff that I need for adding the fluff to my AAR back stories. if I make any bloopers I only have myself to blame now. I am at present reading the Sea novels about the Fighting Anthonys and have tutted my way through several howlers like an English Lord using the word gotten, and mention of the Prince Regent in the early 1780s. Someone must have a crystal ball!

The Business of the commander-in-chief is first to bring an enemy fleet to battle on the most advantageous terms to himself, (I mean that of laying his ships close on board the enemy, as expeditiously as possible); and secondly to continue them there until the business is decided.

I have those Dave, but thanks for posting them here for anyone else to utilize.
This is just the sort of archive we need for adding the fluff I was talking about.
