    Default Hello from USA!

I have been a board gamer for many years. I've had a love for pirate games both board and digital: Merchant and Marauders, Sea of Thieves to name some. I also enjoy the occasional Lord of the Rings version of Warhammer, Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game.

One day I stumbled on Master and Commander: Black Seas. This looked right up my alley: a naval miniatures war game. After much research I found Sails of Glory. I saw there are some solo rules and as I tend to play mostly solo, I decided to pull the trigger on SoG instead of Master and Commander. I also like the rule set of SoG much better as it has simultaneous play (which is so much more thematic) and a more realistic damage/repair system.

I'm doing more homework as I wait for the starter set and battle mat to get to me this weekend.

If you have any recommendation for Solo rules (I see powder monkey is very popular) or other ways to spice up solo play, such as event cards, please do recommend!

    Thank you.

    Welcome aboard, Bryan!

Here's a link to my soloplay system:

    https://www.sailsofglory.org/showthr...Solo-Mechanism

Make sure you read through the whole post, as it was under development and the first mention may not be the most up to date system.

Reading the post myself, I found that the most current template was on line #24 and the most current rules were on line #57.

I can now formally welcome you to the Anchorage Bryan.
I told you that the master of solo play would probably pick up the ball. He was very quick off the mark.
We must all pop into the Wardroom this evening for a few virtual noggins and a chinwag.

The Business of the commander-in-chief is first to bring an enemy fleet to battle on the most advantageous terms to himself, (I mean that of laying his ships close on board the enemy, as expeditiously as possible); and secondly to continue them there until the business is decided.

Whilst you are on Dobbs, can you give me any info and or stats for my next project which includes a Barque Lateen and a Xebec Polacre of about Sloop size from Ron Langton. Should I use you Xebec ship bases or do the sails configurations change anything in a dramatic way?

If you have any questions just ask. When you fight an action, make sure that you post pictures here! Everyone likes to see ships slugging away at each other.

Welcome aboard, Bryan, from a Frenchy white flag teammate. I hope you'll find what you're looking for here !
