    Default Data Base Error.

You may have been facing some issues from Data Base Error messages over the last couple of days, as has occurred on the Drome. I noticed it for the first time here yesterday. If you log off and wait a few minutes it usually recovers. Try not to have too many boxes open at one time seems to help also. Coming in from E-Mail notifications can also seem to trip it, so best to log on and answer these from your Notifications inbox.

Here is Keith's reply to my question about the problem on the Drome.

    Rob.

I noticed it once the other day as well. It was not a site/server issue, but an general network/hosting issue. Something we will need to keep an eye on, but nothing we can do about it right now.

    Fly safe,

    Keith

What happened yesterday, please, I was unable access the website all night? Did Keith shut it down to cure the database error?

    Hi Dave.
As the Fatal error had SQLite, we think it was perhaps a problem with the hardware at the hosting company?

I believe the error message I kept receiving last night mentioned SQLite.

That was what gave us the idea that the fault was emanating from the hosting company. It had not been in previous error messages.

I would say that it wasn't a hardware problem, unless they host the database separately and that specific servercrashed without the forum's server crashing. If you had a solution like that I don't think they'd use SQLite on the other hand. I would say the problem needed a systems administrator to probably restart the server to get the database to work properly, not only the webserver software as is more commonly needed. That's why the hosting company probably would have to be involved. Still it would be the work of a systems administrator rather than a software engineer's so it's outside of my jurisdiction.

Well at least things seem to be more or less back to normal now, although every time I post a picture it also posts below as an attachment which i then have to delete. Anyone else getting this effect?
