Ok Gary, now you have me intrigued. How do you make this magic contraption and how does it function?

The Business of the commander-in-chief is first to bring an enemy fleet to battle on the most advantageous terms to himself, (I mean that of laying his ships close on board the enemy, as expeditiously as possible); and secondly to continue them there until the business is decided.

Really easily, get a small/medium sized Tupperware (or a plastic container of some kind) doesn't have to be really deep, get a cellulose sponge and cut it slightly smaller than the bottom of the Tupperware. Then wet the sponge so it's completely wet (but the bottom of the container isn't a swimming pool!), cut off a piece of baking paper which is roughly the same size as the sponge and make sure it's flat, you'll know it's working if the paper looks damp/see through. Then apply paint in small blobs and the amount of paint you need will be controlled by the brush.
No-one expects a ship full of dwarves.
