Default The United States Naval Academy Museum - "Ships of 1812"

This is one of the most informative videos I've ever seen on any topic, moving from the Royal Navy's rating system through the historical development of Napoleonic-era British frigates and 74-gun third-rate ships of the line to competing British and American ship designs and the various theaters of naval actions during the War of 1812. It's just flat out excellent.

The Business of the commander-in-chief is first to bring an enemy fleet to battle on the most advantageous terms to himself, (I mean that of laying his ships close on board the enemy, as expeditiously as possible); and secondly to continue them there until the business is decided.

I’ve seen this talk and the gentleman does an outstanding job. He’s also the curator of the models collection, my dream job!
