    My Dad was in the Fleet Air Arm WW2.

    The Business of the commander-in-chief is first to bring an enemy fleet to battle on the most advantageous terms to himself, (I mean that of laying his ships close on board the enemy, as expeditiously as possible); and secondly to continue them there until the business is decided.

    My father was RN! Joined as a boy in late 40s as a tiffy spprentice retired as a CPO submariner and joined the Naval recruiting service where he got his commision till he finally retired in the late 90s.
    Cant remember sll his ships but my fleet has them all as representatives

    My son in law is a graduate of the US Naval Academy at Annapolis.
    His brother graduated the US Coast Guard Academy.
    In military service other than navy, his other brother graduated West Point, served
    two tours in Afghanistan & was awarded the purple heart.
    I myself am an army combat veteran who served temporary duty aboard a navy LCU,
    so I have a little naval connection.
    What a fascinating and modern time we live in
