It sounds like the drinks are on Scott and I in the Wardroom, we need to celebrate our new medals properly.
I'm afraid I've been AWOL and missed my own ceremony please accept my humble apologies.

Today it is my pleasure to grant the Minor Con GM. Medal to Peter, TwoSheets for the games he put on at Historycon.

    Congratulations.

    Rob.
The Business of the commander-in-chief is first to bring an enemy fleet to battle on the most advantageous terms to himself, (I mean that of laying his ships close on board the enemy, as expeditiously as possible); and secondly to continue them there until the business is decided.

Thanks guys. I've been a heavy lifter for running Wings games and am now starting to add in some Sails games to my convention repatoire. I see that with new captains the learning curve is flatter. In Wings if you mess up with your maneuver choice you fly away from the action but with Sails you colide with anything that you can collide with!

Drop me a PM to remind me next week when I'm not so busy Pete, and I'll send you a few bits and bobs that I have found useful with green captains. Not that I can help much with collisions. Just ask Raffer J Larwood about that, and turning the wrong way!

    Thanks Rob.

Turning the wrong way is always fun. I usually remind folks if your plane or ship is heading towards you to turn your cards upside down when choosing your movement plot but it will happen to the best of us again and again.

Here are another couple of senior moments for you then Jonas.

First one, Simon (Patch) and Andrea wonder where that aircraft came from, and second Chris (Raffer) decides to turn to chase a French Frigate rather than carrying out his orders to sail down the inside of the enemy line.

It has also been brought to my attention that Peter, TwoSheets has just been promoted to Able Seaman, so well done that man.

The French really tried to make them do that historically. Funny that he fell for that...

Rob I was a little surprised at the size of the wine glasses on display in your senior moments photos, they seem very small but I could be mistaken and they are actually spirit glasses.

They are actually port glasses John, and if you saw the rate at which the Captain's quaffed, you would know why they are that size! The small gin glass is mine because we ran out of the Port glasses.

Congrats to all on the awards.
Apologies for my lack of input of late, this time is very time consuming work wise with very early starts. Plus getting ready for the installtion of a new kitchen. We now going back to a more reasonable start time so expect to be able to add a bit more.

Following my promotion to Admiral of the Fleet, from Admiral of the Blue, the chain of command has been able to expand.
Due to this, I now have the pleasant task of informing the Fleet, that in his New Years Honours list, His Majesty has graciously granted Vice Admiral David Naharaht promotion to the rank of Admiral of the White.

    Congratulations to you sir.
