Default 3 blank C and D damage chits

My box came with 3 blank C and D damage chits. I was wondering if anyone else has used those for some home made damage? Any suggestions?

Yes, mine has a few blanks in as well. I use them as 0's. If you want you could go through and count them up and then write on them with a sharpie.

I was thinking of doing exactly that.
    My idea was:
    For the 3 C-chits: a crew damage + a broken mast.
For the 3 D-chits: double crew damage

These few heavy hitters would make these other types of ammunition much more interesting, even if they require you to get close to your target.

How about if the ship is on fire at the same time one is drawn Explosion. All ships within short range check for collateral damage.

The Business of the commander-in-chief is first to bring an enemy fleet to battle on the most advantageous terms to himself, (I mean that of laying his ships close on board the enemy, as expeditiously as possible); and secondly to continue them there until the business is decided.

I use them when the wind is light or heavy. Since in these occasions, you have to reduce or gain movement, I use these counters to mark them thus allowing me not to move my original sail conditions.
