Santa Ana's Center broadside is very impressive, but only 104 cannons on the ship's card?

We got a bit of a discussion about this picture here yesterday Sven.
You may be interested in comparing notes as we have both picked up on different aspects of the picture from each other.

Didn't saw that, because the Constitution stuff isn't that interesting for me at the moment.

Old Ironside is still waiting for it's maiden voyage.

As far as I know will be Santa Ana's (center) broadside the most powerful in the game.

104 guns at Trafalgar (30x36pdr, 32x 24pdr, 32x12pdr, 10x 8pdr). Quite a few Obusiers but they were pretty useless anyway

Makes you wonder why it starts with a firepower of 9 then Dave.
As a naval expert, have you any ideas to explain this anomaly.

Too bad they couldn't unpack a 109 and a 110 for display too... Anybody snag 'em at Essen?

I notice from the portraits that 109 and 110 use N and O decks respectively, and after Victory's I we know Constitution has one of J-M... which tells us they have three decks developed and set aside. Question is, for WHAT?

Thanks, Sven. Since my German is horribly rusty (as in "chuck it back in the smelter and start over"), would you mind asking him about snapping a pic of a representative 109 and 110 log to help fill in some blanks on the Stats Committee? :) (I'm a little ill-at-ease barging into the German community with my Ugly American English... though despite my not liking beer if I ever get to visit my friend in Munich I'd gladly join you guys for a pint and a game. (Well, half-pint for me... LOL)

Interesting that they're identical except in Veer and Deck... this implies to me that either Leaner got buffed or Artesien got nerfed.

Then again, comparing them to Constitution... I would have expected them to turn in a similar HTK score of 45--though there is a tradeoff, 10x4 may be easier to hit than 9x5 but it has one more box of shooting back and thus may be harder to kill.

At the gamefair in Essen I heard, that in the next wave of new ships there will be some pirates...but it is not already decided.

Re pirates: some discussion, but no candidate sculpts yet--at least not Wave 4, maybe a surprise Special they haven't told us on the Research Team about yet.

She was subsequently captured by the French ship Héros off the coast of Sumatra, in 1782. She was called Petit Annibal to distinguish her from the eponymous 74–gun Annibal, which was in the same fleet. Admiral Bailli de Suffren took her into his fleet, and she saw service in his five battles against British Admiral Sir Edward Hughes in 1782 and 1783. She was decommissioned in 1787 and used as a hulk from 1792.

This ship pack can also be used to represent the French Portland Class “Leander 1798.”
If she was decommissioned in 1787, why does she have a Revolutionary flag?

It would certainly give them a run for their money Hugh.
You could employ the optional rule for Gunners lacking training, on page 34 of the rule book.
That would give a more realistic cast to the action.

Latest Facebook entry says the ships will be arriving at some hobby shops on December 12th. That probably means North America and not Europe or elsewhere?

If the ships are arriving in North America on 12th December, then it is doubtful that anyone will bother about shipping any across the Atlantic until after the Christmas and New Year holidays are over, which means that we probably will not see any in the U.K. till late January.

This is why I keep trying to tell Ares they need to let us on the Research Team LOOK AT the 3d models before they're committed to production...

Two straight waves of this, along with the Bf109K Kerfuffle. Obvious mistakes where I'm starting to sense a worrying pattern...

One more point in favor of the "Replacement Mast Set" product proposal I'm trying to work up... just order a mast set each for each pair of one SGN109/110 you want to correct, cut, drill and glue...

I think the Portlands are supposed to have the lateen sail though. I think in this case it's the pictures that need tweaked. Unfortunate, because the hulls look right, it's just the mizzens in the pictures.

I like to put my own flags on pin flagstaffs wherever I can, and then I can interchange them for the different periods that the ship was in service. if i will ever get around to doing them all is another matter.

Returning to your mast set replacement idea DB. I also think that it is a superb idea and could fill another much needed gap in marketing need, not only for normal replacements, but for altering ships profiles to give slightly differing looks to ships which otherwise are relying only on paint jobs to differentiate them.

I think I'm going to have to have a new ship to hunt down, the Santa Ana is even more dangerous than the ocean classes.

I wonder if it has any weaknesses, like a horrible movement deck, or something.
