    Default Metal merchant in 1:1200

My first (almost) finished metal ship. First metal ship in 20 years and second I've ever tried.

It's a Langton medium merchant. It's a little smaller than an Amazon.

Glad I started looking to see what I had missed here Jonas.
This will help me decide how to treat my Merchant ship from Langton.

Well done Jonas. Do you have in mind to make the rigging?

By the way, I recommend strengthening the union of the bowsprit to the hull using thread.

Thank you Julián. I did rig the ship, but I haven't taken any pictures. Neither did I add that strengthening but now I will.

Looks like another very good tip Julián.
Just in time before I start to paint my decking too.

I really ought to get to grips with my Langton lead pile, these photos are quite inspiring. I've been diverted by renaissance and ancient galleys recently

I have several French 74's to complete. Perhaps I can turn them into EIC or the French equivelent.

Like David I have a huge Langton lead pile. Probably wont get to them before the pending cataract surgery. After that maybe not at all? Thankfully, Wave 3 will be arriving soon which should keep me occupied with the game.

Hope your surgery goes well Jim.
My 80 year old Brother in Law had it done a few months ago, and they did such a good job that the Dr. is letting him drive again. He could not even read the dashboard dials when he had to give up, so do not despair over the ship building.

Thanks Rob. This has been coming for years and while I'm not too concerned about distance vision I like to get up close with modeling and I know that after surgery your focal points aren't the same. I'll likely have to use magnification glasses to get the vision detail I want to use when building.
