Mav now sailed around the Island and reduced the British ships by raking their sterns.

A French victory, and I did not have enough Captains left to form a Courts Martial.

Enjoyed today, we had four good games, although we did pick on the pirates a tad with two 74's.
However they did cause a lot of damage nearly causing HMS Spartiate to strike, only one box left

Hi Mike take a look at post5 pics 3 onwards, One of our members has painted three Frigates as the ships from Pirates of the Caribean, Black Pearl etc.
Prriodically on ebay there is someone who sells the ship card and mat insert for the three ships from the film and we used.
Also in the WMMS thread there are a few more pics including a close ip of all three

Just back from Triples weekend. The show was enjoyable but was very light on punters this year.
The sails table did good and we had gamers there most of the day, however looking around the show it was pretty empty which was a shame.
Sunday was even more quiet as a show but got in three games, was a bit tiring as was only me on the table, but really ejoyed the weekend.
Will post pics later in the week

The large green flocked ones are Kallistra mountains from their hex system, the small blue based islands are from the two box sets of Whizkds Pirates Island sets, which I have managed to pick up

Well one Captain is squeaky clean. The other two had better men of means, so that they have something to fall back on when they are dismissed from the Service.

Here we see the Presiding Senior Captain positioning the sword on the table.

Last weekend saw us attending what was one of the Premier Wargames shows in the UK calendar. This year was quite disappointing from a gamer s perspective as there were not a lot of punters, however both the Wings and Sails tables after a slow start did have people playing most of the time.
Here is the table, showing off our new Banner for Sails

The Table layout, I am trying to get some 3D terrain to break up the Blue table top, so this year I am also using a playing mat from a local Furnishing chain, this is a Blue table covering but has a marble effect which gives a wave impression.

Here we have Rob (Bligh) and Simon discussing the day’s programme

The display table showing my models in their KR homes

First Game, the young lad wanted a Pirates game, so we had two Pirate Frigates against two Pirate hunting 74’s HMS Belleraphon and HMS Spartiate ( Yes I know it’s not fair but they be Pirates !)

Game 2 Saw a French V British SOL encounter

Myself on the left with Bag getting ready to deal out the punishment while Rob (Bligh) is waiting his chance to Rake the Frenchman already engaged

The battle continues, now 2 SoL each

But then it was 2-1 in France’s favour

Both sides call it a day due to damage

Next game, Started off as a 2V2 SoL action, but Rafa J Larwood joined in so the French were outnumbered....again

Sunday I was Solo so didn’t get many pics of the games as was helping the punters

There are some more pics in my album marked Triples 2016

Sailed into action, blasted one Frenchie out of the water - got so excited forgot the scenery (just used to flying over it I guess) - got myself totally run aground - at the crew were able to disembark for a picnic and a game of beach cricket whilst the rest of the battle unfolded. Good fun while it lasted....

I blame the supplier of the charts, Master, Master's Mate, Helmsman, leadsman, lookouts, Officer of the watch, and any Midshipman in view Chris.
After all the Captain has more than enough on his mind during a battle than to watch out for any great big sandbar, lump of rock, or island that happens to get in his way.
Only just managed to dodge Australia myself and I was in a 14 foot boat without any smoke screen at the time.
