    Default Ship mats availability

    Ahoy, mates!

I finally received two mire ships to reinforce the starter set squadrons, and I have scheduled a four player game next week! That's great news (for me at least)

The HMS Impeteaux and Le Swiftsure join their allies!

The bad news is I had ordered them on December of the previous year. And they never shipped because the extra ship mats never reached the store. The ships would still be waiting for them in the store, but after more than two months I was fed up and dropped the ship mats from the order so the ships would be finally shipped.

The Spanish publisher, Devir, told me the item was available and ready to ship, but according to the store, it never did. The whole episode has left a very sour taste in my mouth.

Have you experienced similar issues regarding this item?

Since I am now limited to four player games, I gave a shot at vectorizing the info on the ship mats and created these two-piece ones to be cut and laminated and used with a dry-erase marker. No more fiddling with crew action or ammo tokens, nor ship logs. Although I fear the surface may be too slippery for damage tokens.

I had similar problems a few weeks ago: I ordered one ship and ship mats from an online store and got the message, the mats were out of stock, so they will send it seperatly from the ship as soon as it's available again (they estimated in about three weeks; I am curious if that's a realistic date). The ship came one week later and on the bill the ship mats were already listed (no extra postage for me).

    Hola Longino
I can send you a letter with two ship mats. If i put an A mark on the letter, you will receive the ship mats in about 2-3 days.
I am willing to try Morten

Try the file section, Eric (7eat51) has produced many ship mats that you can use with a write on/wipe off pen.

Morten deserves a promotion! After being let down with the spanish publisher, This gesture speaks volumes about the community around Sails of Glory. I would have never expected someone five countries away to send me these, free of charge. Such a selfless move deserves recognition. hats off.

I also produced my own dry-erase marker versions in case Morten's letter did not get here in time. I uploaded them too

Worthy of REP. That lad will go far, well until his ship sails off the edge of the world that is.

Last sunday I finally managed to get my first 3vs3 fleet action, sponsored by our beloved Morten.

It was a blast. Which was great since our last game was not really good (last time bad terrain placement prevented us from engaging for way too many turns)

The French managed to sink HMS Meleager, while slightly damaging HMS Impetueux and barely scratching the paint of the HMS Vanguard. Men in Le Swiftsure and Unitè, on the other hand, were having a hard time keeping the ships afloat, since both were badly damaged and fire had almost reduced them to wooden torches. Aquilon was nearly untouched, however, as its captain had decided to flank the enemy avoiding combat with the ships of the line in order to hunt HMS Meleager down. We all had a lot of fun, even when there were two first time players and we were playing by advanced rules.

I am still very disappointed with the Spanish publisher, but we had plenty of fun thanks to you, the community. I will never be able to express enough gratitude to Morten for that gesture.
