    Default New Ship's Cats

Regular readers will be pleased to hear that Tiddles, our latest foster cat, has found a new home with some lovely people to look after her and generally pamper her.

    But

    Big news!

Our own half-Persian cat, Maisie, had kittens last night!

One "maisie look alike" (torty and white), two torties and one black and white. So three, possibly four girls.

Mother and babies all doing well :D

A cute family. You may get lucky and one of them be the very rare male calico or tortie.

Just received a letter from the local Animal Control that someone complained about my mates. The commander (wife) is very upset at why may happen. I have to set a plan of action to save them.

Complaint was that they run around. I thought thats what cats do. I think it is someone just wanting to get back at us for some reason and this is how they are doing it.

Thanks for asking and has been quiet. I think it was someone messing with us. I have 2 acers of land and live in and area with 17. They roam around and have been here for 4 years.

My neighbours must be far more tolerant, as we have 500 square feet and our cats spend most of the day in someone elses back yard.

Our new arrivals are 4 weeks old now. They are developing their own little characters and are becoming super-cute (as well as being a right handful for their mother!)

Woderful kittens! My male cat has seventeen years but I still remember it when I found it near the gate of the yard (it had about one month)

Very cute kittens. It does looks like they're at the stage where they're going to keep mom busy corralling them.

They are all over the place at the moment. Running mum - and us - ragged! Liz and the kids were out on Sunday and 5 minutes before they came home I had no idea where ANY of the kittens were. All found (hiding in cupboards and sock drawers) just as the front door opened, and a good thing since otherwise my name would have been mud!

They've all found new homes now, they are just getting used to solid food and litter boxes before they leave us on or around May 6th ( :( )

Sounds like it's going to be awfully quiet around your house.

I guess that will be really hard not to have these kittens to home

In this period I am following the brood of a pair of peregrine falcons through a webcam. Parents use a nest made available in one of the buildings of the University of Rome "La Sapienza"

If you wish to look at it this is the link: http://www.birdcam.it/index.php?act=cam&cam=1

    Wow, thanks for that. Fascinating

Well, the kitties are only with us for another week, and I'm missing their last few days as I'm away working in Cumbria until Wednesday :(

However, i have been advised that there is a new addition to the "family" but I'll keep you in suspense as to what we have now until I get home to see it :)
