The brewery wrote,"Dunkirk is a port town in northern France, right on the border of Belgium. It was on the beaches of this area where nearly 400,000 British and Allied troops were surrounded by German Panzer divisions in 1940. Defeat was imminent. Then a ragtag flotilla of 800 small private boats assisted with the ferrying of troops back to the UK while being strafed by the Luftwaffe until the RAF drove them off and nearly 90% of the troops were saved.​"

The brewer wrote," Prior to the War of Independence there was the infamous destruction of Tea in the Boston harbor as a protest against taxation without representation that was being pushed on the New World. As an ex-pat Brit I have to protest to the waste of this tea. Why not take it and conceal some of this wonderful product in a beer!? So we created this experimental tea beer. A brown ale to reflect the color of a good strong cup of “builder’s” tea and with a hint of Chestnut to add a light sweet nuttiness at the end of the palate.

This ale honours an American naval hero from W.W.1 - Edouard Izac - Amber Ale/Black IPA: ABV 6.4% IBU: 41.1.



The brewer wrote," Edouard Izac was a US World War I hero. He received the Medal of Honor for his services and went on to serve in the house of Representatives for California. He was distinguished after being captured by the Germans at sea where he picked up U-boat intelligence and made multiple attempts to escape and finally getting his information to the Allies.
To honor him, this beer uses all German malts and US hops and yeast to represent his 50% German, 50% American heritage."
