Although I am quite partial to Haggis, somehow the idea of mixing it with the sea and beer does not excite me at all. Nevertheless another extraordinary find Dave.

In Norse mythology, Ægir (Old Norse "sea") is a sea jötunn associated with the ocean. He is also known for hosting elaborate parties for the gods. So it is appropriate that a Norwegian brewery is named after him including one of its products.

    Still on the Greeks.
Homer spoke of a single Gorgon—a monster of the underworld. The later Greek poet Hesiod increased the number of Gorgons to three—Stheno (the Mighty), Euryale (the Far Springer), and Medusa (the Queen)—and made them the daughters of the sea god Phorcys and of his sister-wife Ceto.

Paikea is both the Māori language word for humpback whale and a mythical character, who rode a whale. If you have watched the film 'Whale Rider' , the heroine in that film is named after him.

(I am informed that Paikea Chardonnay is available from the Waitrose supermarket chain in the U.K., if anyone wants to try it. I have not tried it, nor do I have any connection with those supermarkets. Obviously it will also be available in New Zealand where it is made.)

For this reason, I am reverting to more mundane naval themed beers which we may have missed.

O.K., leaving mythology, I do not think that we have seen this one before.

Here is a drink honouring John P. Holland regarded by many as the father of the modern submarine.

The Nautilus is not necessary fictional, Rob. The U.S.S. Nautilus was the worlds first nuclear powered submarine.

The captain of the fictional Nautilus called himself Nemo, but Nemo means "Nobody".

This beer is named after Klaus Stortebeker, the German pirate.

Nice one and I thought we had about depleted the Pirate theme.
I'll have a look to see what I can find for today.
