BARLOVENTO
In 1811, during the Napoleonic Wars, the English captain George S. Goldroll, carried out the feat of transporting aboard the merchant frigate Windward 800 gallons of Imperial Stout to the port of St. Petersburg. Circumventing the Continental Blockade imposed by the French on British trade.
After a perilous voyage, bordering the Scandinavian coast, suffering storms and raiding enemy ships and icebergs, he managed to reach the court of the Tsar. This successful journey would give the Imperial Stout the strength of smoky and exotic flavour that would make it exceptional.
