Yes, re-based onto special cut to size clear plastic bases that fit into the SoG blue base.

Well you have certainly made a very fine job of them Neil.
How does the difference in scale work out?

I actually started collecting all the official ships for decks and bases to use with the Langtons. This is because I have a wider range of ships. From lowly 12 guns through 24,36, 40, 50, 64, 74, 80,90, 100, 120 rec.

However I did do an experimental game with a fleet of SoG v a fleet of Langtons. The bases are the same size, the ship's obviously different scales but from a picture point of view from SoG to Langton the distance perspective was good. The other way, ok it looked closer. However if you just think the model ship is a representation of the ship itself the scale can be put to the back of your mind. The bases are exactly the same size, ranges the same etc, so no difference only that the SoG ships are 1/1000 and the Langtons 1/1200.

I only mentioned it because I was thinking of picking up a couple of Langton Merchantmen. I guess size don't really matter there because the Merchant ships were not really any specific size. So a large Langton Merchant could look like a medium when put alongside an Ares 74 would you say?

I'll photograph one next to the other, all the classes next to a SoG 74, then you can gauge the size to get. Langston also does merchantmen but I don't have any.

    A general melee then Neil.
I have just bought another set of smoke markers because of this forthcoming battle. It will be the largest that I have undertaken yet.

Best laid plans of mice and men did not survive first contact with the enemy. For the enemy did not do what I expected them to do....damn solo charts. But what a game.
