    Default I'm mad!

This is the smallest ship I have rigged. Is this maddest? Yes! it is. I tried bristles but it did not work as they are to thick. So I used glued thread. Making lines of glued thread I cut it to size for each part. As it is so small I only did one line of running rigging for the flag. Hope you like or it gives you a new way to try rigging (On lager ships)

Mad is the correct word. If I were to look upon said model, I probably wouldn't even see that rigging. I would have to bend over with my nose just above the main mast and squint. The incredible amount of work you did means that only guys with 20/2 vision could appreciate that fine detail. I would have to use a magnifier to look at that workmanship. Well done. Beautiful work.

    Hi All,
I'm loving the ship name jokes. It helps to rig the ship/boat. It makes stronger also more handling friendly. I do not do them only for show. I make wargaming figures. It would sit on your thumb nail. It has no places to tie or knot thread on it. So I had to go with the glued thread. The bristles looked wrong and too thick. As I looked at smaller/finer hard threads I did not like them. I liked the thread I use, but it was bendy! That was when the light came on. I us glue to act as a needle to thread my threads though drilled holes and around masts and sails. On the Kannonjolle no spaces to knot and no room to drill. I glued the thread and cut it to length, well a bit longer for handling. So adding a little glue to the hard thread I lied it on the ship from deck to mast tops. Adding glue to the mast-tops, let it dry and cut off the extra bits at the top. I was told not to use natural thread as they stretch. So would not think of using silk. If you wish it use silk! it is up to you! Ed, The Kannonjolle brought the wine.

I love the Kanonjolle! (Swedish spelling )

I think though I would have based a few together. I'm not sure they have enough effect to be represented on the table otherwise.

I would use them as a squadron. 2 to 3 plus all firing at the stern of a S.O.L. with heavy cannon or Kannon would hurt. To put them all on one base is O.K. if fighting big ships. What if you are fighting a smaller action around lots of islands against small ships? Group bases would not work. They are not ships-boats (which I do group base). Does is answer you?

Great modelling, Rory! It is possible to buy thin magnetic strip. Could you put some underneath the bases of your galleys and have a group base with a piece of steel underneath, so that you have the options of using them as a flotilla against larger ships or individually against small ones?

I would say read my post #12 in this thread. You must do as you wish. They are your ships. I would only say what formation would you have them in? I bet the one you pick will not be the right one for that game. It's called "Sods-law"
