It occurs to me that these forts would have been marvelous add on items for a Kickstarter campaign that featured a Sails of Glory version of the Santisima Trinidad? After all the ST was built in Havana!

If only Ares could link up with Julian's 3D production company or enterprise? Not likely to happen as their energies are focused elsewhere. I'd certainly back a campaign that included these forts.

There is certainly a gap in the market here which must appeal to people other than just we sailors.

We'll go slowly. First make the product, second market and third expansion.

I've already thought that if Ares ever released ST I would order it from Julián (too).

Hello, we are planning to make wood forts as William Henry (Last of the mohicans) I want ask dimensions and what scale is better, for now I only have designed for 1/1000 or 1/1200 but we can make other scales.

    Thank you for your help,
    Julián

Would it be possible to make the star fort without the outer works to make it smaller?

AAAA that was my first observation I made the designer, but unfortunately he said no. The solution he gave me was to cut with a cutter the thin base that between the fort and the outer defense works. This way you would have the fort side 10 cm.

Add the resin is easily cut with a dremell. And if the thickness is thin you can be cut with a cutter.

So that makes it four forts to order if you want them all in the 1:1000 scale...

If you can cut away the Glacis carefully, you can then use the Star fort without for most games, and pop it back on for special actions.

You can even represent a walled city if you removes the fort and replaced by houses (not to scale but could be worth for a small stage)

Superb. May I draw your attention to Brouage near Rochefort:

Inner dimension is roughly 355m x 355m (So 355cmx355cm give or take in 1/1000 scale)

Sorry that is 355mm! What a clot I am. Although in present day Brouage is practically landlocked it was once the richest port in Europe due to the salt trade. The top gate in the picture was about 50-100m from the river. The river silted up over the years and the port and town drifted into obscurity.

3D printer that works my partner has a maximum of 19cm side. So you could do in one piece, this should be done in four parts.
