Default Generic Dynamic Ship Logs - Simplified Version

In response to folks asking for the ship logs we used at Origins, I created a file that contains three generic dynamic ship logs that are customizable. Each ship log (simplified version) have fillable fields for ship name, ship burden, firing stats, musket firing stats, crew stats, etc.

    To use:
    - download the PDF
    - open it in a PDF reader
    - tab through the fields to fill them to your liking
    - save file
    - print on 8.5"x11" paper
    - use laminated for reusability or reprint as you need

The file can be found here.

Eric will eventually create and upload ones with the official stats for each ship.

    Happy sailing.

    Thanks, Sue, for creating these.

I am uploading filled-in simplified ship logs for all released ships here.

I just found a bug while filling one of these out. I notified Sue, and she will fix it later today. We will update accordingly. We apologize for any inconvenience.

    You're welcome (again), David.

I really like the clean and simple version when using basic/standard rules. Laminated, these work quite nicely.

An interesting aside, if my memory serves me correctly, the USS Constitution is the only ship in which there are the same number of boxes for hull/cannon as there are for musketry; all of the other ships have one additional box of musketry.

It's the only one! (Except for my version of HMS Indefatigable. )
I'm very proud to say I thought that was appropriate for those heavy frigates and suggested it before USS Constitution's stats was revealed...

Please explain, Jonas. I would like to hear the rationale; this is interesting. Thanks.

Once again, we have an ominous number of posts, there.

Strangely enough it wasn't really something I planned for. I first imagined what difference a 64 would be from a 74 then trying to guess what kind of difference razeeing would make in the game and thought it would still be Burden 5 but fewer boxes. Comparing the weight of the broadside gave the numbers, which compared to the now available early Constitution tells me I probably made them a little too high.

Then I compared crew numbers and found that having a handful men more than HMS Sybille would probably give the same numbers as her.

It turned out those happened to be the same number of boxes and I kept them like that in my suggested stats, even though it was a first.
Turned out Constitution had the same number of boxes...

Thanks for posting. For my American repaints I was going to substitute stats of SOG ships similar in size and armament. With these logs I may now do some number crunching and tweak the stats for a better representation.

The final eight ships have been uploaded; these are the Wave 1 repaints.

All that remains are the shore batteries.
