    Default Frigates types.

Just reading up about Frigates, I came across this statement:- More Leda-class Frigates were built for the Royal Navy than any other Frigate design. Can any of you more knowledgeable chaps advise me on which Ares Frigates are the Leda Class. i think I should have more of them.
    Thanks.
    Rob.

Ares don't do one yet. The Hebe model is a perfect substitution, being the French class on which the Ledas were based. I picked up a few for RN repaints when the series 2 broken mast saga was upon us and Keith was selling them cheap.

If you want to go and see one there are a couple preserved in the UK. The best one is Trincomalee at Hartlepool, the subject of an amazing restoration and sitting within a lovely museum. The other is Unicorn in Dundee which is mastless and "in ordinary", but still well worth a visit (I'm hoping to swing by there on a trip in a few weeks)

HMS Shannon was a Leda class frigate and that has been promised for a future expansion. Name: ShannonModel38GunShip.jpeg

Another was an HMS Surprise but this was later than the 1796 one, upon which Jack Aubrey' ship was based.

As a small aside I'm pretty sure HMS Trincomalee will be coming to the Naval Action PC game.

    Cheers Dave.
I will look around for one or two then.
It's a pity that Ares did not bring the most prolific one out.

I've seen it in YouTube videos of battles, so yes it's there. I think it's a pity they use a post war paint scheme though.

There was a thread about stretching sculpts that includes the Leda class. It's mostly the extremely sloping stern that I would try to fix.
