All right, who's going to be the first one to put wings on a ship and try to use it in a WGF game ???

Only sails? The experience of modern warfare make it clear that "masking pattern" makes sense on the hulls of ships. Flying Cowman? ;)

I expect it is only cos modern warships tend not to have sails, that they paint the hulls, Ken.

If you didn't paint the hull there'd be nothing for the crew to do, and less for the Jimmy to moan about :)

I may have to play around with a few different designs... who knows what I can come up with.

Hey Ken, I have an old Hot Wheels Blimp that would fit close to scale over a 1/1200 1st to 3rd rate that would look good with Cowman colors.

Ah it's already been done and by an Australian of course!

Australia II, it was a winged keel though

Ah well, if you are going to consider hydrofoils then they've been around much longer than winged keels :)

Forlanini's hydrofoil from 1910, and Thornycroft was working on them in the late 1890s :)

Already working on it -- altho' _S1889_ is mostly steam-age, so working out the armor is going to be a problem. :)

Working armour into the rules shouldn't be that tricky. I had a go at something similar when I was adapting my own AoS rules for use in the Opium Wars (where the iron-hulled Nemesis makes an appearance). At a simple level introducing an "armour factor" that reduced the effect of each damage chit drawn when firing at the hull would seem a simple solution. I suspect more detailed yet satisfying solutions may present themselves when the rules are published.

Yes -- actually having the game would help. :) That said: The "damage point reduction" model seems simplest, so it's the one I'm working with ATM.
