The original plan was for Summer 12, but IIRC that last "official" word was Q3......

I said winter this year based on what generally happens to new lines in small suppliers that do work reasonably well.
    Just a guess really.

I think next winter/Christmas is most possible, considering previous delays in WoW/WoG.

I also went with the end of the year, Christmas time. With all the new things, next series of the WW I planes, WW I bombers and the WW II bombers I think it will take taht long for them to show up.

I agree with Paul. With all the KS funds and as far as production appears so far I would hope we have our KS Starters in the mail by the end of Aug.

I think with the lessons they learned with WGF&S their August delivery to suppliers will be spot on.

Is it common to not meet deadlines as stated in KSs?

Sadly, yes. There is no quality control with KS projects, and some are far more amateurish than others. Even with the "pros", there are established game companies (like Steve Jackson Games) which fall behind schedule with their KS projects (OGRE in that case) through no fault of their own. Having said that, Ares is an established company with existing product lines, and I think the August deadline is realistic.

That's what I fear. I hope Ares makes deadline, if for no other reason than to secure goodwill.

Hope your correct about Ares, Michael.

If they are delayed by a month (maybe even two), then I think there is no permanent harm. Beyond that, then yes, people will grumble. One can only hope that all will be forgiven if the final product meets or exceeds expectations.

To give you a sense of how these delays can occur through no fault of the company, just recall the delay with seeing the smoke markers, as Keith dealt with the prototypes. It happens.

I kinda sorta need them to be on schedule if I'm to run it at MillenniumCon.

Allowing for the time it takes materials to cross the Atlantic, I would think some time in January.

That was long before they started the KS project.

We're digging a canal west to the Pacific. Plans to dig our way south was shelved, due to too many Pirates along the Rio Grande.

if they can set up a naval base and a naval museum in Calgary I don't see naval experts in Arizona being an issue

The next time I go to the Calgary Stampede Rodeo, I'll have to stop by the naval museum.

So we might have to divert a small portion of the lower Colorado river around Yuma to go west. We are thinking along Hwy 8.

Or a large construction contract opportunity for a "Falkirk Wheel on steroids" :)

Our engineers gave up on that idea, due to the mast and sail height and width of future Ships of the Line.
