    Very nice, Rory.

    The red is quite striking.

Here's a nice little essay on the Hemmema: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hemmema

Will these ever be in SoG's future?

By the way, What names are they?

Startskottet (The Starting Shot), Styrbjörn (a given name) and something I can't read.

And Sweden never really was any power to be reckoned with after the Great Northern War when Denmark, Poland, Saxony and Russia attacked together, joined by Brandenburg (Prussia) when Sweden was starting to be exhausted. 1/3 of all men, 1/6 of all the population of Sweden died in that war. Sweden hadn't recovered population-wise until mid 19th century, a century and a half later.

    Hi Sven,
The Hemmemaa where not hybrids, but the answer to an under-armed galley's. They are oared frigate or a galley with a broadside.

    Hi Eric,
The red on the ships! Some of the bigger Swedish ships-of-the-line used red on there sterns and Bulwarks. So I took some artistic-licence and to help I.D. my Swedish ship on the table, I used red on all my Swedish fleet. I cannot say that all Swedish ships had so much red on them, but it helps on the table.

    ...2036, that is.
Lot of galley's in the Black Sea and The Baltic. If you take one of the smaller frigates you could add home-made oar-banks to add to the ship and you have made a Hemmemaa.

The names come from a Find a ship web site and ship battle lists Swedes V Russian. Both of the above named ships are Hemmemaa and real. Thanks for your information.
I hope I have answered you all.
