    I got to ride the USS San Jacinto for a week and a half. It was very interesting.
    Sure am glad I am in submarines......The link is a few of the pictures I took. I took about 300.

    Looks like a fun little cruise. I still don't get the point of the Navy camo on ships though!

    As a USN chum described it, it was a cost saving measure - you go overboard, they'll never see you so no point in going through an expensive "man overboard" drill and recovery to pick you up :)

    Yes, that's the way I saw it as well. They don't conceal you on the ship, only in the water... where you typically do not want to be concealed!

    USS San Jacinto.....She has to be an excellent ship. After all she is named for the decisive battle of the Texas Revolution.
