    Default Sloop Agility

What about playing that sloops of war only have to plot one card in advance, instead of the typical two? This would give them a marked agility to larger ships.

Interesting idea--I've had a few myself, like ripping off an old War at Sea house-rule where the biggest ships move first for each player and then you move down to the smaller ones, and letting very maneuverable ships use a "movement point system" where instead of playing one Battle Sail move you may play two Backing cards together as if they were one. (Full Sail would get you choice of either one each Battle and Backing or three Backing--maybe Battle & Backing for frigates and 3x Backing only for Unrateds.)

Don't know what the answer will be, but your idea seems worth a play-test... at best you contribute a possible new mechanic, at worst no worse off than where it all started, right?

_Renegade Legion: Leviathan_ did this as well. It seemed to work.

Unfortunately, I don't think Ares will be doing any more sloop sculpts anytime in the near future. There will probably be some repaints of the Swan.

WGS has a unique rule when a pilot is wounded. The employed mechanism might seed an idea along your lines:

Reading this an idea that came to me that could be added to the original suggested change could be: After all movement cards are revealed allow the smaller rated ships like Frigates and Sloops to change their first Maneuver Card to reflect their agility.

Granted I haven't considered if that might add too much gamesmanship, or other negative and unwanted aspects to the game. But it's a thought I've been rolling around in my head to reflect that most Frigate and Sloop Captains tended to be more experienced and aggressive in their ship handling then their higher rated ships Captains.

The above does make an excellent suggestion!
