Default Royal Navy Flags and Ensigns

    Hi folks!

If I got this right there should be a page of Flags attached to this post. Any of you who may have seen my posts on Ship Bases will know that I am removing the Ares Ensigns and replacing them with removable ones. If anyone else wishes to do the same the enclosed will help, at least for RN Ships, until I get the French, Spanish, Dutch and Russian pages done. They are designed to be printed on sticky backed paper and wrapped around the Ensign/Jack Staffs or Masts.

It is a Word doc so that if you wish to alter the sizes of the various Flags you can do so.

    Cheers

I was under the impression that the blue color was a little lighter before the change and they darkened it in 1801.

    Otherwise very nice.

It's just a pity I just made my own flagsheet but its an Adobe Illustrator file.

    Default French Flags and Ensigns

    Back again!

I have attached another Flag sheet, this time for the French Navy. Not sure if I have got all the flags and Ensigns that were around, but I will keep doing some research and add them later.

In the meantime, I hope you can use these!

    Many thanks Juan!

Do you have similar on the Spanish Navy? All I can find is the National Flag/Ensign, the Jack and a Pennant. Can find nothing on the Admirals'/Squadron Flags/Ensigns.

    Cheers

Following some input from Juan, I have updated the French Flags and have also done the Dutch Navy, both attached.

The Spanish Navy is being difficult due to the lack of info on Admirals or Division Flags and Ensigns. Any help would be most appreciated.

    Cheers

    Thank you, Brad.

Have you considered uploading them as files, directly under the files tab?

    Again Juan, many thanks.

I have discovered some other Spanish Naval Flags that were in use in the very early 2oth century but am not sure if they were being use 100 years earlier. Have a look at this awesome Flag site! http://tmg110.tripod.com/spain.htm I have saved them already and am making up double sided versions. Even if they were not in use during the Napoleonic wars, it may be useful, and decorative too, for players to use them anyway for a large game.

    Cheers

    Hi Eric.

Not sure how to do that. I thought once they were posted they would be there.

    Cheers

    Hi Brad,

Go to the top Files tab. Click on it. You will then see a tab for adding a file. This will put your files in a place that folks can easily find.

If you need any help, please let me know.

    Cheers,
    Eric

Those rank flags and command pennants were not in use during Napoleonic Wars and are part of a post historic period. They were in use during the Spanish–American War of 1898. You can use the spanish naval ensign and pennant that i posted, if you like. They were in use during the Napoleonic Wars. That flag site is great and i like it.
