Over the holidays I responded to the offer to buy some of the mast broken ships. I received 8 of them and after a quick survey determined a quick fix. Since they had all sheared off at the deck I used a 1/16" drill bit in my drill press and drilled a hole 1/16" deep into the deck where the mast was attached. The loss of this little amount of height is not noticeable. Thick CA was placed in the holes and the masts were a slip fit in. I then added a small fillet of CA using a needle at the attachment joint on each mast to reinforce them all. After the glue had cured the masts were quite happy and so am I! I then went back to all my ships and did the same. Ready for action!
