Default My Ship's Cat Has Passed Away

There was a knock on the door this morning. One of the neighbours had found a ginger tabby that had been run over in the lane.I'd not seen Mitch at breakfast time (not that unusual) and of course it was it was he that had been hit. It was nice of our neighbour to let us know what had happened. He even brought him home. Kids were distraught in their own ways, and I was pretty cut up too. He was buried with full honours in the garden, so at least he will always be here.

I know he was "just a cat" and there's so many other troubles in the world, but just now having him pass on was pretty awful for us all.

David, I am very sorry for your loss. Pets are far more than mere animals; they hold special places in a family's life. I truly wish peace for you and your family.

So sorry to hear of your loss. A number of friends have all recently lost pets and they are truly a loss within their respective families. Condolences to you and your family.

Such a shame about him, I hate the feeling of loss when a furred family member is gone.

Yeah... frankly, most of the animals I've lived with have been better company than many of the PEOPLE it's been my misfortune to know, like the semi-feral cat who we couldn't make a housecat out of but she was quite happy to sit in the car with us all night.

Then there was Bucky, the feral Siamese who'd chase anything he saw right to the top of a tree... that furball seemed to be all feet, because when the time came to come down you'd hear this "thump" on impact and then he was ready to charge right back up the tree again. Not too bright, that one... but ya gotta respect his tenacity in trying to Get That Squirrel.

Sorry to hear of your tragic loss David. Those rascally buggers can cuddle right up into your heart and leave such a hole when they are gone too soon.

Our pets are very much a part of our lives, and when they pass, it does leave a hole in our hearts that is tough to fill.

My deepest condolences on the passing of your pet.
