    Default Press ganged?

This friendly sailor bought me a pint in a pottery mug. When I got to the bottom of my drink, there was a shiny new shilling. I remarked on this, and he told me I had enlisted in the Royal Navy, by taking the King's shilling! I explained that there must have been some mistake, and he told me yes, and that I had made it by accepting a brink in a tankard without a glass bottom!! Two of his less friendly mates dragged me to this ship, and here I sit in chains until we sail. I keep thinking there MUST be better ways to get staff.;)

Cheer up mate, you will see the world with Royal Navy (If you do not have vertigo in the rigging, it will be OK). Welcome aboard! Daniel

    Hi and welcome John.

I was going to suggest you steer clear of anyone offering free grog - bit too late for that now!

One of the first things with which I was presented when I started mucking about with the RN and their associated hangers-on was a glass bottomed tankard, which I still use on a regular basis.

    Welcome aboard sir!
